Nigel Graham Cheney Quilted Blue Bird Cushion 46 cm x 46 cm

Nigel has worked with all forms of textile art and design over the last four decades. His work has  been exhibited across Europe, most notably the heart rending " Tour of Duty " in 2018. Nigel was a lecturer at the NCAD in Dublin for 25 years .

Nigel's work is as unique and as sustainable as possible .These are labours of love and do not appear with haste or speed. Fabrics are always printed with reputable UK printers with environmentally Sound processes and many of the Vintage fabrics have been soured with meticulous care to ensure that although they have been preloved their repurposing means they will escape becoming landfill .

Nigel's work is often driven by narrative and history , the natural world always appeals and much of his imagery comes from birds,animals and flowers. Peoples pets offer continued fascination and there are opportunities for the inclusion of specific species or even pet portraits within the work.

As a member of the Embroiderer's Guild, Nigel enjoys sharing his work and technical knowledge, providing lectures or workshops.

Nigel works from his studio in Market Harborough ; Creating Original artworks on Paper and Cloth .These are created using a full palette of textile processes including hand and machine stitch . Original images are often digitally manipulated into individual compositions before being sustainably printed in England on premium fabrics.
