The second plate in this distinguished series — a faithful reproduction from Les Plantes Potagères, the landmark botanical catalogue commissioned by Vilmorin-Andrieux in 1850. Across 46 hand-lithographed plates, fifteen artists captured rare and cultivated specimens in vivid detail, working directly from living plants at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. Among them, Élisa Champin whose botanical draughtsmanship remains unsurpassed. Publication ran until 1895.
